DockTech: Go-Float Yourself!

Is your neglected old paddleboat looking a little worse for wear? Are you yearning to add a little more excitement to floating around the dock? We think we have found the solution to your woe's...an electric Go-Float SL1!

The SL1 is quite simply the ultimate sun lounger. There is no easier, quieter, sexier, more comfortable way to go pleasure cruising. When you’re ready to escape on a comfy excursion to nirvana, the whisper quiet Go-Float SL1 is the boat for you

The recumbent seating position of Go-Float's watercraft delivers comfort and ergonomic advantages unmatched by other vessels of its size. And each seat is richly upholstered with premium marine grade vinyl over fast-drying foam cushions. Can you say, "ahhh…"? Music fans will enjoy plugging their iPod into the optional stereo and turning up the tunes. Get your favorite beverages chilling in the integrated cooler and slip a cold one into the convenient drink holder…now you're ready for some serious lounging.

The exciting lineup of Go-Floats offers unique ways to enjoy great boating fun, while also safeguarding the aquatic environment. Go-Floats are electric! So there’s never any gas, oil, exhaust, fumes or other pollutants to impact your waterways. Zero emissions mean an eco-friendly excursion that all can enjoy. It’s also a nice way to save money when prices at the pump are shooting upward.

The Base Price of the SL1 is $2195. You can load the SL1 up with a bunch of features like a hideaway steering column, iPod ready Stereo, onboard charging, fishing rod holders, and colours (White, Yellow, Blue, Red and Pink). We really like the base model in white, a pure and simple water toy. I'm sure you can rig a solar panel to charge the battery while you're away to have the 'lounger' ready and waiting for your next visit to the dock. If, instead of replacing the old paddleboat, you're looking to replace the rotting SeaFlea, Go-Float also has the RX1 model that "delivers all the lounging and pleasure cruising offered by the SL1, but also adds the ability to ride on top of the water at speeds up to 20 MPH!"

Where can you get one? You can order direct from the website. Steve Hendrickson, Go-Float's General Manager, told us "The SL1 can be boxed and shipped as a UPS parcel shipment. Shipping, customs and taxes are additional costs of the buyer. Although we do not currently have a distributor established in Canada, our distribution system is developing rapidly and we anticipate we’ll have strong representation in Canada sometime early next year." We will update this post when they do.
