Docktime Spirit from Latvia

Our annual search for a Christmas video with Santa being towed behind a boat took seconds to find with this one taken on Georgian Bay Christmas Day. It was perfect. We had Santa on a wakeboard and a bag of gifts being dropped off on sleepy-eyed children's docks.Then I came across this video which speaks a Docktime Spirit that moved me.  Around here, with the Toronto Boat Show looming just weeks away and press releases of the latest, greatest boating models and wares flooding our inbox, this video brought me back to a humble, warm and fuzzy place.  Taken in Liepaja, Latvia...an Eastern European country struggling through an economic meltdown, we see some fun loving guys enjoying the season.  No Mastercraft X-Star, not a lot of air, no wetsuit (I think), a trusty old Yamaha on a boat I don't recognize, a homemade custom tower (and rope?), lots of balls and tons of spirit! Santa hats off to these guys and  'Priecigus Ziemassvetkus' (Merry Christmas) and 'Laimigu Jauno Gadu' (Happy New Year) right back at 'YA!
